I Wonder What Your Halloween Costume Would Have Been
Practicing Mindfulness to Alleviate the Hard Moments this Season
But First: Announcements!
The Miscarriage Therapist has two new groups starting during the first week of November.
Our next 6-week pregnancy loss support group starts Thursday, November 9th, at 7pm EST. Our support groups are open to people who have experienced a pregnancy loss at any stage. During these groups, we build community and connection with other loss parents, learn tools to support you through your loss, and identify further resources to help yourself.
Starting November 9, Thursday, 7:00pm
6-week Pregnancy Loss Support group
Facilitated by Danielle Albetta & Fiona Smith
Cost: Free
Starting Tuesday, 11/7, I will be facilitating a 6-week psychotherapy group: Navigating the Holidays After a Pregnancy Loss.
Getting through the holidays can be very hard after a pregnancy loss. We wish we had our children to spend the holidays with, so we are grieving. We also might be coping with family and friends who don't recognize how hard this time of year might be. And, many people announce pregnancies during the holidays. How do we cope?
This group will help us identify our boundaries and needs for the holiday season. By integrating both coping strategies and skills, as well as providing a space for support and connection with other loss parents, this group will help you feel prepared to face the holidays.
Tuesdays, starting 11/7, 5:30 - 7pm EST, for 6-weeks
Cost: $300
To sign up for either group, or to get more information, email me!
On the Podcast:
I’m currently recording interviews for our upcoming season. I’m looking forward to sharing those conversations with you.
Starting this week, I’ll be sharing a 6-part series on surviving the holidays. These mini episodes were some of our highest rated episodes last year, and I’m looking forward to sharing a new batch of tips and ideas to support you through the holidays this year. If you have any of your own tips, thoughts, or questions regarding the holiday season, please share in the comments, or email me. I would love to answer any questions you all may have.
Practicing Mindfulness During Halloween
Every year I wonder: what would you have been for Halloween?
Last year I wrote a post pondering my unborn child’s Halloween costume. And this year is no different. Our oldest unborn children would have been three-years-old this Halloween. Other toddlers are dressing up as Doc McStuffins, fire fighters, or various characters from Paw Patrol of whom I will never learn the names.
I’ll never have a toddler during Halloween.
